CentrO Mall Brings Unique Experience to Shopping Center

Unibail-Rodamco was looking to differentiate CentrO Mall from other shopping centers and turned to Admemori and Daktronics to transform the busiest mall in Germany into an exceptional shopping experience like no other featuring digital signage. The transformation includes 10 LED video displays to provide flexibility in content from advertising messages and marketing campaigns to ambient lighting and full feature clips on nearly 250 square meters of digital canvas.

For maximum appeal to the nearly 16 million annual visitors to CentrO Mall, Admemori’s team creatively designed the digital installation to be located at the heart of the shopping center. The LED displays, manufactured and installed by Daktronics, invite shoppers to the space and provide a relaxing public area for shoppers to linger a little longer during their shopping experience.

“This visual centerpiece offers us almost endless possibilities to reach our visitors at all points of the customer journey with one impressive installation that astounds our customers,” said Marcus Remark, center manager of CentrO Mall.

Four main curved displays each feature 35 square meters of digital space flanking the upper entrance to the main thoroughfare and are enhanced by six display sections that form a circular digital ribbon display set prominently on the rotunda’s edge between the ground and first floors. All displays feature 6-millimeter line spacing to show crisp, clear imagery at closer viewing distances associated with this shopping center application.

The unexpected digital signature provides us an exceptional platform to attract the attention of customers and inspire them with impressive experiences.”

Digital content can play across all displays simultaneously in a consistent strategy where the design and function of the installation provides a compelling and unique experience for shoppers. In addition to the self-branding and atmosphere-targeted content, this installation offers special added value for tenants and external brand owners as their own content can be played on the displays as individual pieces or as part of a larger marketing campaign to generate traffic in their stores.

The technology can show live and recorded video, animations and graphics, real-time information updates, and any other content fitting the digital strategy of turning a shopping trip into a memorable experience.
